What is a digital wallet?+
A digital wallet helps manage blockchain accounts, addresses, asset information and signing requests. It gives users a way to control the keys that authorize on-chain actions.
How are a seed phrase and a private key different?+
Both relate to wallet control. A seed phrase can restore a set of accounts, while a private key generally controls a specific account. Neither should be sent to anyone.
Will imtoken ever ask for my seed phrase?+
No. Official personnel will not ask for your seed phrase, private key or verification code through chat, forms or remote-control tools.
Why does the network matter before a transfer?+
Similar address formats can exist on different networks, while assets and contract state remain separate. A wrong network can prevent a transfer from reaching the intended service.
What is gas?+
Gas prices the computational resources required to process a transaction or contract action. Cost changes with network demand, transaction complexity and protocol rules.
What is a transaction hash for?+
A transaction hash is a unique on-chain reference that can be checked in a block explorer for status, block inclusion and address details.
What should I do if a transaction is pending?+
Avoid repeatedly submitting the same action. Save the transaction hash, review network conditions and check the relevant explorer before deciding on the next step.
Does connecting to a DApp approve my assets?+
Not by itself. Connection usually establishes an account session. Later signatures or token approvals may grant broader permissions and must be reviewed separately.
Is every message signature safe?+
No. A signature may be used for authentication, but the request can still be misleading or part of a broader authorization flow. Check the domain and exact request.
What is a token approval?+
A token approval lets a specified contract use tokens within a defined allowance. Review the spender, amount and purpose, and revoke permissions that are no longer needed.
What do EVM networks have in common?+
Many EVM networks share similar address and smart-contract models, but chain IDs, gas assets, network parameters and contract deployments can differ.
How does Layer 2 relate to a base chain?+
Layer 2 systems expand transaction capacity while relying on a base chain for settlement or security properties. Cross-layer transfers can have distinct waiting and confirmation rules.
How can I recognize a phishing site?+
Check domain spelling, the way you reached the page and the exact request being shown. Urgency is not a reason to sign, and secrets should never be entered into a website.
Should I use a wallet on public Wi-Fi?+
Sensitive actions are better performed on a trusted network and device. Also check that remote-control software or unusual proxies are not active.
Does Ethereum staking guarantee returns?+
No. Protocol rewards change, validators can incur penalties, exits can involve waiting periods and digital-asset prices can move.
What is a PoS validator?+
A validator participates in block proposal or verification under proof-of-stake rules and must remain compliant with protocol requirements.
Does a missing balance mean the asset is lost?+
Not necessarily. Display depends on the selected network, indexing and token configuration. Check the correct network, contract address, transaction hash and block explorer.
What should I do with a suspicious signature or approval?+
Stop the action, disconnect unnecessary sessions, verify the domain and contract target, and consider revoking an existing approval when appropriate.
